POSITION INFO

The ongoing drive to enhance cervical cancer screening and cytology service delivery calls for a leader with a deep expertise in laboratory management, policy development, and strategic stakeholder engagement. Our client, an established healthcare organization dedicated to advancing medical standards and public health initiatives, is seeking a highly experienced professional to guide their cytology services amidst evolving technological and regulatory landscapes. Duties: Oversee, coordinate, advise, facilitate, and implement cytology techniques and policies aligned with NHLS and NDOH strategic objectives Facilitate NHLS participation in policy development and review processes Coordinate and implement the Cytology national priority programme Promote and ensure NHLS Cytology service delivery meets client needs Establish and manage partnerships with internal and external stakeholders Analyze, monitor, evaluate, and report on cervical cancer screening trends Explore and assess international technological developments for service adaptation Advise on protocol and policy development with NDOH Ensure cytology laboratories achieve and maintain SANS accreditation Provide guidance on financial models for cytology testing Requirements: 10-12 years of senior experience in cytology, pathology, or related healthcare fields Minimum 7 years in a managerial position Proven expertise in advising on cytology techniques and policy formulation Strong troubleshooting and advisory skills, with experience in RPE and R programming Ability to analyze complex data and generate actionable insights Demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement and partnership management Knowledge of SANS accreditation standards and regulatory compliance Familiarity with the following: Cytology laboratory operations International technology trends in cytology and cervical cancer screening Financial modeling for healthcare services Take the next step in shaping South Africa’s healthcare landscape — apply now to lead our cytology services into a future of innovation and excellence.
