Our client has a vacancy for a Development Manager for a permanent role, based in Durban, KwaZulu Natal.

Applicants are required to strictly meet the following criteria:

  • Post Graduate Qualification : Business Management or Property Management highly recommended
  • 3+ years’ experience in media and advertising as well as contracts negotiations advantageous
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office - Power Point and Excel are required
  • Working knowledge of GIS system or other property/inventory management system advantageous
  • Must be proficient in writing and compiling of business proposals
  • Experience in working with municipalities is essential, with good knowledge of Outdoor Advertising Bylaws
  • Understanding of legal contracts and contracting leases
  • Must have Driver’s License, own car, and ability to travel to areas / towns within KZN
  • High energy candidate who is able to network

The s uccessful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Liaising with various councils, developers, stakeholders and landlords
  • Identifying new opportunities for the business’ units in line with each business unit strategy
  • Site visits and measurements for council requirements
  • Assist in compiling council applications for submission to Municipal Planning Departments
  • Ensure efficient Stakeholder Management and provide the company with updates on key developments
  • Liaising with various internal stakeholders and ensure that all processes and paperwork are in place for new sites until its commissioned
  • Assist in compiling tenders for the respective businesses where required
  • Verifying that all contracts for the respective Divisions are loaded correctly in the systems
  • Project management planning, executing and effective reporting for different projects
  • Ensure that site inspections and reports are done immediately after new builds
  • Weekly & monthly reports compiled and submitted as required
  • Identifying new outdoor advertising opportunities in line with company strategy and negotiating landlord contracts to secure advertising rights
  • Ensuring that existing profitable rights are retained and comply with relevant legislation
  • Play a leading role in stakeholder management for the respective divisions
  • Monitoring inventory performance and implement remedial action (contract renegotiating) where necessary
  • Project lead and ensure efficient information sharing between Development, Marketing Services, Operations and Sales
