An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced
Contracts Engineer to join a leading engineering company specialising in water and wastewater treatment infrastructure. This role is responsible for managing engineering projects from planning through execution while ensuring commercial success, technical excellence, quality, and client satisfaction.
The successful candidate will oversee multiple engineering projects, manage project budgets, lead multidisciplinary teams, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Our client is a well-established engineering company with over 40 years of experience delivering turnkey mechanical and process engineering solutions throughout Southern Africa. Their expertise includes the design, manufacture, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, process equipment, and industrial infrastructure for municipal, mining, and commercial sectors.
Minimum Requirements
- BEng or BSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 5–8 years' experience within engineering, EPC, construction, or contracting environments.
- Proven experience managing engineering projects from inception to completion.
- Strong commercial and contract management experience.
- Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment systems will be highly advantageous.
- Experience with project budgeting, profitability, and resource management.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Willingness to travel to project sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously.
- Lead project planning, implementation, and execution.
- Manage project budgets, commercial performance, and profitability.
- Conduct project risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate project teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
- Ensure projects meet quality, safety, and environmental standards.
- Monitor project progress and prepare management reports.
- Drive client satisfaction and identify opportunities for business growth.
- Mentor project team members and ensure continuous development.
