The Role: Contracting Manager The Contracting Manager will play a key role in shaping the travel offering through strategic supplier partnerships and commercial negotiations. This role exists to help secure the experiences, relationships, and commercial opportunities that enable the delivery of extraordinary journeys across Africa. The main focus areas include negotiating agreements, managing contracts, and securing industry-leading rates to protect the business and create value for guests. Key Responsibilities Secure industry-leading rates and exclusive benefits by building and maintaining strong partnerships with hotels, lodges, transport providers, and activity operators, drawing on a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience within a procurement, contracting, or supplier management role in a DMC environment. Negotiate agreements that protect the business, create value for guests, and ensure a seamless transition from negotiation through to implementation. Drive commercial performance by negotiating advantageous override agreements, bednight commitments, and value-added opportunities to maximize revenue. Work closely with internal teams and supplier partners to ensure agreements support business goals, market demand, and exceptional guest experiences. Track and analyze supplier performance, contract profitability, and commercial outcomes to provide actionable recommendations. Provide data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making and continuous improvement across the business. Collaborate with the Rates Team to ensure a seamless transition from contract negotiation through to implementation. About You 3 to 5 years minimum working experience within a procurement, contracting, or supplier management role in a DMC environment is required. Currently based in Cape Town. Degree or Diploma in Tourism, Commerce, or Contracting. Specialised knowledge and experience working with a travel Booking System. Strong analytical understanding of systems/data. Innovative mindset to harness AI and automation for process efficiency. Exceptional negotiation skills and interpersonal expertise. Ability to confidently influence people and manage supplier / internal client relationships effectively.
