In-Trade Asset Specialist

Overall Responsibility
As an In Trade Asset Specialist, you will be responsible for managing all physical assets in trade, including commercial fridges and draught equipment, ensuring their optimal utilisation, maintenance, and strategic deployment. You will collaborate with outsourced suppliers and internal stakeholders to optimise service delivery, asset rollouts, and operational efficiency while adhering to budgetary guidelines. Additionally, you will lead the annual Capex planning for asset acquisition, manage an asset register, and ensure that data-driven strategies inform asset management and lifecycle decisions.
Focus Area: Asset Management
- Cost-Effective Draught Solutions: Deliver cost-effective draught solutions by ensuring superior planning aligned with the commercial activity calendar.
- Asset Management: Maintain accurate records of draught and refrigeration equipment and lines in trade, including the execution of cleaning and service call-outs.
- Operational Support: Provide superior operational support to the sales team, ensuring all activities, installs, call outs etc. are within budget.
- Draught Quality Assurance: Maintain quality across all draught lines in trade, ensuring a superior draught experience for consumers.
- Data Extraction & Reporting: Extract data from mobile workforce applications, CRM, and other systems to assess and report on the performance of installations, cleaning cycles, call-outs, and spend per region (Rand/Liter).
- Consumer Brand Experience: Facilitate the creation and delivery of an exceptional consumer brand experience for draught at every outlet.
- Supplier Management: Manage strong relationships with 3rd party suppliers to ensure fast, effective service at the best cost.
- Asset Master Management & Verification: Maintain the asset master and plan and execute annual verification of all assets, ensuring up-to-date tracking of asset deployment and condition.
- Procurement: Oversee the procurement of glassware when assigned, ensuring alignment with operational needs.
- Efficiency Improvements: Continuously seek to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of draught and refrigeration operations.
- Rollout Strategy: Plan and execute the rollout of new assets, ensuring they meet operational needs and align with market demands.
- Annual Capex Planning: Lead the annual Capex planning for commercial fridges and draught equipment, aligning investments with business growth and operational needs.
- Budget Management: Oversee the budget for asset management, ensuring cost-efficient operations while maintaining high-quality service.
Requirements Of The Role
- Degree in Marketing Management, Business Management or similar
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues and collaborate effectively across teams.
- 2-3 years' experience in trade asset management, Capex planning, or a similar operational role within the FMCG or related industries.
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with strong analytical skills for data analysis and reporting.
- Demonstrated adaptability and proactive problem-solving in dynamic environments.
- Proven ability to think creatively, developing innovative solutions that drive operational efficiency and business growth.
- Budget management experience, ensuring alignment with financial targets and responsible fiscal oversight.
- Capex planning experience for commercial fridges and draught equipment, ensuring strategic asset investment.
- Data analysis proficiency, with experience extracting insights from mobile workforce applications, CRM, and other systems.
- Skilled in relationship building, maintaining strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strategic rollout planning and execution experience, ensuring effective asset deployment.
- Ability to translate data insights into actionable strategies, driving continuous business improvement.
- Experience managing commercial fridges and draught equipment in high-paced environments.
- Knowledge of draught quality standards and customer-facing operational excellence.
- Proven experience managing an asset register with accurate, real-time tracking.
