We are looking for a Corporate Tax Manager with UK Tax experience to join our Sumer Offshore Services team, part of the Sumer Group, working in a hybrid model based at the 123 Consulting office in Johannesburg. Key Responsibilities
- Support various of our UK hubs with preparation and delivery of high-quality tax advice, has a holistic approach to client advice and delivery
- Prepare clear, well structured, and technically accurate written advice reports.
- You will be actively involved in the end-to-end delivery of advisory work, managing workflow and driving projects forward and delivering best in class quality advice.
- Ideally you will have knowledge of Corporate matters affecting OMB’s and be able to assist with tax planning and restructuring projects for the business and its owners.
- You may also have Corporate Tax planning experience, being able to deal with corporate restructuring, drafting clearances, writing advice documents, advising on Share Schemes, Remuneration Planning, Restructuring including groups, purchase of own shares and demergers, ERS reporting and ATED all are not essential but proven experience in this area is important.
- You will undertake technical research and apply findings to client scenarios; you will also be a point of contact for other departments with technical tax questions as any when required.
- Liaise with clients and internal teams to gather information and ensure a timely delivery.
- Contribute to the development of internal technical knowledge and best practice for the team.
- You may need to assist with Complex Compliance work as the need arises in busy periods, or disclosure work and HMRC enquiries.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical ability with a passion for building relationships and developing others.
You will:
- Be CA(SA) / SAIT or equivalent qualified (or qualified by experience).
- Have strong UK corporate tax knowledge and experience.
- Have proven experience managing client relationships and delivering a high-quality service.
- Be confident communicating with a wide range of clients and colleagues.
- Be highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Have experience leading and developing junior team members.
- Broader tax knowledge or experience with other taxes is desirable, but not essential.
