Maintenance and Support Engineer (Servios)

Hungry Lion on behalf of Servios is looking for a versatile Maintenance and Support Engineer to ensure our cloud-native platforms run flawlessly. You will bridge the gap between active development and operational excellence—troubleshooting systems, optimizing data pipelines, and maintaining our frontend and backend stack.

Technical Requirements

• SQL & Dashboards: Strong SQL proficiency, specifically with window functions (RANK, ROW_NUMBER, LAG/LEAD, running totals). Experience building/maintaining dashboards in Looker Studio or similar BI tools.
• Python & API: General Python expertise with hands-on experience building or consuming REST APIs.
• Firebase & Firestore: Experience with data modeling, handling real-time listeners, and writing security rules.
• Frontend (React/TS): Overall React/JavaScript proficiency with TypeScript used in production. Experience building Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) featuring offline and service worker support.
• Cloud & Infrastructure: Hands-on GCP experience, familiarity with Terraform (IaC), and a solid understanding of cloud design, deployment, and cost management.
• AI-Assisted Development: Highly active and proficient in using AI tools within your daily development and troubleshooting workflow

Day-to-day responsibilities

• Troubleshooting production issues
• Fixing frontend and backend bugs
• Writing SQL queries for reporting
• Maintaining dashboards
• Monitoring cloud infrastructure
• Improving performance and reliability
• Integrating APIs
• Managing Firebase data
• Deploying updates on GCP
• Using AI tools to speed up development and debugging

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in:

Computer Science (BSc)

Information Technology

Software Engineering

BCom with a Computer Science/Information Systems focus (where applicable)
