An exciting opportunity is available for a Junior Financial Accountant to join a high-energy and collaborative finance team based in JHB North.

POSITION INFO

This role is ideal for an ambitious finance professional who is eager to gain broad exposure across the accounting function while working alongside experienced finance leaders. Minimum Requirements: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Articles advantageous Minimum 1 year of accounting experience Experience with Xero, CaseWare, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Key Responsibilities: Management Accounts and Financial Reporting Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts Prepare financial reports and variance analyses Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information submitted to management Support business decision-making through timely and reliable reporting Full Function Accounting Perform full accounting duties across the finance function Manage general ledger reconciliations Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions Prepare and process journal entries Assist with month-end and year-end processes Support the preparation of annual financial statements Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies Payroll and Financial Compliance Support Accountants and Senior Accountants with payroll processing and reconciliations Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements Assist with audit preparation and audit support Support tax submissions and related compliance requirements Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation Core Focus of the Role: Deliver accurate and timely financial information Support the integrity of financial reporting and accounting processes Ensure compliance with financial and statutory requirements Contribute to the smooth operation of the finance function Added Value Expectations: Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies Strengthen financial controls and reporting accuracy Support continuous improvement initiatives within the finance team Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders Key Success Factors: Strong technical accounting foundation High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment Adaptable, energetic, and willing to learn Positive attitude and strong work ethic Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Why This Opportunity Stands Out: Opportunity to gain exposure across the full accounting function Work alongside experienced finance professionals Exposure to cloud-based accounting and reporting systems Risk Retirement Package Hybrid working model after probation, including a remote half-day on Fridays Dynamic, team-oriented, and growth-focused environment If you are a motivated finance professional looking to build a successful career in accounting and financial reporting, we would love to hear from you.
