Qualification Matric SAMTRAC Requirements Minimum 5 years' Health, Safety and Environmental experience within the mining equipment fabrication industry Ensuring that the organization is compliant with SAMTRAC guidelines and relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. Responsible for identifying safety hazards related to fabrication, such as welding, cutting, heavy lifting, and equipment use. Developing and maintaining safe work procedures for fabrication tasks. Ensure that proper PPE (personal protective equipment) is worn, and safety systems like ventilation and fire extinguishing methods are in place. For each fabrication or construction project, the SHE Coordinator ensures that a dedicated safety file is maintained including project-specific risk assessments, method statements, safety procedures, emergency plans, and training records for personnel involved. Conduct internal audits to ensure the safety files are up-to-date and properly maintained including verifying that equipment certifications, inspection reports, and safety protocols are current.
