Overall Responsibility

To maintain equipment in as good as new condition, assuring reliable performance to standard through inspections, corrective actions to restore equipment to inherent condition, problem solving to address root cause failures & loop closures. Coaches’ operators in the correct way to operate equipment & to perform Autonomous maintenance tasks.

Focus Area 1: Health, Safety & Environment

  • Comply with safety, health & environment procedures & legislation
  • Maintain safety & 5S standards
  • Identify unsafe practices through the safety observation reporting process
  • Safety inspections conducted
  • Adherence to PPE standard

Focus Area 2: Maintain & repair plant and associated devices

  • Locate plant, equipment, spares & relevant documentation/systems
  • Plan & prepare for the job
  • Carry out repairs & maintenance schedules safely and accurately
  • Operator workshop equipment

Focus Area 3: Work in teams

  • Communicate effectively in teams
  • Contribute to self and team development
  • Contribute to routine meetings

Focus Area 4: Work order complete

  • Back log managed
  • Generate tags for follow on work and no rework

Focus Area 5: Support Manufacturing Excellence roll out

  • Take part in problem solving using the Focused improvement tools
  • Support and action 5S roll out in department
  • Support and action Maintenance & Autonomous maintenance pillar roll out

Requirements Of The Role

  • Tertiary education, degree or diploma, in Electrical and/or mechanical engineering
  • Passed the relevant Trade Test
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant technical experience in a similar role, preferably in the brewing, beverage or FMCG industry
  • Exposure to a workshop environment
  • Ability to work overtime when required

Preferred Skills/Competencies

  • Trade test qualification
  • Sharp problem solving/root cause analysis skills
  • Good team player
