Accountant - Somerset West

An established accounting practice is looking for an experienced Accountant to join its expanding team based in Somerset West. This is an office-based position offering the opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a range of accounting, taxation and financial reporting services while maintaining high professional standards and building strong client relationships.

• Process monthly accounting records for a portfolio of clients.
• Compile annual financial statements.
• Prepare files for independent reviews and audits.
• Manage electronic submissions and statutory filings.
• Handle taxation matters, including VAT, PAYE and other applicable tax obligations.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and legislative requirements.
• Provide professional service and support to clients while meeting strict deadlines.

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Financial Accounting or Management Accounting.
• Completed SAIPA or SAICA articles.
• Current professional membership with ongoing CPD compliance, or 5-7 years' relevant accounting experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software, including Xero, Sage Online and Pastel.
• Experience with Draftworx and CaseWare will be advantageous.
• Strong understanding of taxation, financial reporting and statutory compliance.
• Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
• Excellent client service skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.
