SUMMARY

Are you a Technical Draughtsman with strong mechanical aptitude and a passion for product development? This role offers the opportunity to combine technical draughting with hands-on involvement in manufacturing, prototyping, and R&D projects within a dynamic engineering environment.

POSITION INFO

Job Description: Create and maintain detailed 2D and 3D manufacturing drawings Prepare product, tooling, fixture, and assembly drawings Assist with product development and continuous improvement initiatives Take measurements from physical components for reverse engineering and design updates Support prototype development, factory trials, and R&D activities Liaise with production, CNC operators, quality teams, and toolmakers to ensure manufacturable designs Ensure drawings include accurate dimensions, tolerances, materials, and revision control information Maintain drawing control and technical documentation systems Assist with the implementation and follow-up of technical projects within the factory environment Work closely with management to support new product development and engineering improvements Ensure all drawings comply with company standards and manufacturing requirements Skills & Experience: 3-5 years' experience in mechanical draughting, tooling, machining, manufacturing, or a similar technical environment Strong 2D and 3D CAD experience Experience working with CNC lathes and/or CNC milling machines Good understanding of machining processes, tooling, and manufacturing principles Ability to produce detailed manufacturing drawings with dimensions, tolerances, and materials specifications Experience using precision measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometers, and gauges Exposure to product development, reverse engineering, or prototype development advantageous Comfortable working between the drawing office and factory floor Qualification: Draughting Qualification, Mechanical Qualification, N4/N5/N6, Technical Diploma, Trade Qualification, or equivalent technical qualification Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
