Purpose of the job
This position aligns with an Analyst or Associate-level role within private equity, infrastructure investment, or corporate finance/M&A teams.
Reporting directly to the Head of Investments, the successful candidate will actively participate in all stages of the investment lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Commerce, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of post-articles experience, or at least 6 years of relevant professional experience in lieu of completed articles.
- Proven track record in corporate finance, private equity, M&A, infrastructure, project finance, or renewable energy.
- Advanced financial modelling, valuation, forecasting, and quantitative analysis capabilities.
- Demonstrated experience supporting deal processes, including due diligence, condition precedent (CP) management, stakeholder engagement, and financial closing.
- Strong understanding of corporate law, commercial agreements, and investment structures.
- Prior exposure to the renewable energy sector is highly advantageous but not mandatory.
POSITION INFO
Technical Competencies & Experience: Assessing and originating utility-scale solar PV and renewable energy investment opportunities. Constructing robust financial models, long-term forecasts, asset valuations, and comprehensive investment cases. Evaluating project economics, equity returns, debt capacity, sensitivities, and downside risk scenarios. Reviewing plant technical performance, generation forecasts, and operational assumptions. Formulating non-binding offers (NBOs) and complex commercial proposals for offtakers and strategic counterparties. Leading the transaction life cycle from initial screening and business case evaluation through to financial close. Execution of critical workstreams, including timeline governance, conditions precedent (CP) fulfilment, data room management, and investor queries. Championing commercial and financial negotiations with offtakers, developers, lenders, and key project counterparties. Partnering with legal counsel to draft and negotiate Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), loan, O&M, and partnership agreements. Conducting technical, financial, and credit risk due diligence on target projects and institutional offtakers. Authoring institutional-grade presentations and investment committee papers for Board-level and investor review. Driving operational portfolio value through targeted financial, commercial, and strategic analysis. Facilitating debt advisory and capital raising processes, including lender engagement and information memorandum preparation. Contributing to the formulation and execution of long-term corporate strategy and market positioning. Behavioural Competencies: Analytical: Strong numeracy and financial modelling skills.
