Job Advert Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Mixer Paint to join our team at the Paint Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately mixing and preparing paint coatings used in the finishing of roofing products, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to production standards.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum NQF Level 4 - 5 Grade 12+ / Higher certificate essential.
• Knowledge on chemicals used in paint mixing.
• Forklift license will be advantageous.
• Experience with handling/mixing paint experience.
• Ability to follow instructions precisely and work with formulas.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and overtime when required.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English and use measuring equipment.
• Basic understanding of workplace safety practices

Duties and Responsibilities

The following key areas are covered by this position:

• Adherence to safe working practices for production.
• Monitor and check production processes to ensure they are within acceptable standards.
• Monitor and check quality and ensure that the correct batches are supplied to the Coating Department.
• Monitor and move raw materials, profiles and finished products.
• Stacks products in accordance with layout plan.
• Moves full / empty containers to required locations as per instruction.
• Ensures conformance to housekeeping, health and safety standards.
• Required to work shifts and overtime.
• Check paint samples.
• Knowledge of pumps.
• Be able to read and understand paint formulations.
• Lab experience would be advantageous.
• Collect and prepare paint batches.
• Have sound knowledge of how to work with a scale.
• Mix and prepare paint to required formulas and colour standards.
• Operate mixing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of batches and materials used.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of chemicals and supplies.
• Support production teams with timely delivery of mixed paint.
• Continually aware of ways to improve directly or indirectly.
• Understanding and conformance to the company policies and procedures.
• Assist in stock takes.
• Perform any reasonable task.
