Are you a hands-on infrastructure professional who thrives in the field and takes pride in getting projects delivered to the highest standard? Join our Networks team as a Site Supervisor in Tshwane, where you'll oversee on-site activities for key national telecommunications infrastructure projects and ensure every build meets Herotel's quality and safety standards.

This role is perfect for an experienced civil telecoms operator who is equally comfortable leading contractor teams on the ground as they are compiling reports and engaging with municipalities.

What you'll do

  • Supervise all on-site activities and ensure work progresses in line with approved project scope, plans and Herotel installation standards
  • Resolve on-site challenges and blockers in collaboration with build contractors and internal teams
  • Identify and flag project risks to the project management team timeously
  • Compare on-site progress against planning, approved wayleaves and reporting requirements, and address any misalignment
  • Attend and lead municipal meetings and arrange proof of concept demonstrations
  • Communicate planned work clearly and effectively to contractors
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with SHEQ standards, regulations and best practices, and keep the H&S file current
  • Record proof of correct installation through regular photographs and checks, stored with the correct naming conventions in the appropriate folders
  • Validate contractor reporting and ensure approved stock is used on site
  • Check and verify as-built plans from pre-production through to final delivery
  • Measure project performance and submit accurate daily reports
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation for future reference
  • Proactively contribute ideas for improved installation and deployment strategies

What you'll need

  • Grade 12
  • At least 3 to 5 years of operational experience in civil projects within the telecommunications sector
  • Experience in project roll-out, deployment planning and budgeting
  • Understanding of municipal infrastructure, road construction and service distribution
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply plans, drawings and specifications for construction routes and layouts
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Willingness and ability to travel to other provinces and towns as required
  • SHEQ training with applicable qualifications is an advantage
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A natural problem-solving aptitude
