Job Purpose

The Junior Parts Manager is responsible for supporting the effective management of the Parts Department by ensuring accurate inventory control, efficient parts distribution, excellent customer service, and achievement of departmental sales and profitability targets. The incumbent will assist in managing parts operations, supervising staff, maintaining stock accuracy, and ensuring compliance with company policies and manufacturer standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in overseeing daily parts inventory operations.
  • Monitor stock levels and ensure optimal inventory availability.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and cycle counts.
  • Investigate and resolve stock variances and discrepancies.
  • Ensure effective stock rotation and minimize obsolete stock.
  • Monitor and control stock losses and shrinkage.
  • Support parts sales activities to internal and external customers.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of parts orders.
  • Assist in achieving departmental sales and gross profit targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Resolve customer queries and complaints professionally.
  • Assist with supervising Parts Department staff.
  • Coach and support team members to achieve performance objectives.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and a customer-focused culture.
  • Assist with staff training and development initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Ensure adherence to Occupational Health and Safety requirements.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 / Matric (Essential).
  • Relevant qualification in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Automotive Parts Management or related field (Advantageous).

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years' experience within an automotive parts environment.
  • Experience in parts inventory control and stock management.
  • Supervisory experience within a dealership environment will be advantageous.
  • Experience with automotive dealer management systems.
