Senior Draftsman - Port, Coastal & Heavy Infrastructure

Our client is a specialist engineering consultancy looking for a Senior Draftsman to join their Cape Town design office. This is a senior opportunity for a technically strong drafter with extensive experience in heavy infrastructure projects, including ports, bridges, water-retaining structures and coastal works. The role offers hybrid flexibility and the chance to contribute to complex engineering deliverables while supporting design office planning, mentoring and departmental growth.

Requirements

• 10 years’ experience in drafting heavy infrastructure e.g. ports, bridges, water retaining structures, etc.

Competency in

• 2D drafting from concept to detailed engineering
• Working in coordinate space and being ability to transform data
• Processing raw survey data and generating contours
• Setting out and detailing civil services
• Calculating cut and fill volumes
• Reinforcing details and schedules
• Diagrams for study reports
• Drafting of pipelines, breakwaters, navigation
• AutoCAD2D, Civil 3D, 3Ds Max (Simflex), Excel, Revit

Responsibilities

• Candidate must be able to demonstrate experience in planning and managing Design Office resources and deliverables
• Candidate must be able to demonstrate a keen interest in mentoring and growing the department
