Purpose Of The Job

Our client a leading automotive OEM requires a Junior Bookkeeper who will assist and support the Cost Accountant, Financial Manager, Finance and Administration in the daily financial administration.

NOTE: While not essential, it would be advantageous if the applicant has experience with foreign exchange rates, as this knowledge may be beneficial in the role.

POSITION INFO

Responsibilities: Creditors Invoice processing and Reconciliations Capture approved invoices for sundry suppliers on the accounting system in conjunction with the Creditors Clerk on a timely basis; and Reconcile accounts on a monthly basis for the supplier invoices mentioned above Process foreign trade invoices for Cost Accountant Processing Warehouse and Logistics invoices (for product) on and checking these invoices on a timely basis Allocate payments against invoices on accounting system Fixed Assets: Process of Invoices in General Ledger on a timely basis Ensure proper description, tagging and identification of items Verify assets quarterly per department (forward downloads to various departments); and Complete annual physical count for audit purposes shortly before year end Rebates Prepare quarterly dealer scorecard rebate (Auto/OBM/MC) CSV file, to be reviewed by Bookkeeper for upload onto accounting system Dealership Financial Reporting Scorecard (eSOS) Upload of monthly scorecard onto DCS after review by Financial Manager Stand in Responsibilities for Current Personnel Assist with costing of OBM- and MC Units when required Month End Accounting Raise general and month-end journals if required by Financial Manager Expense accruals, prepayments and provisions Prepare month- end Recon file to trial balance with all supporting schedules and required analysis Prepare any additional reports / analysis as the Divisional Manager may require Adhoc requirements from the Financial Manager General office administration and duties + Archiving Files Year-End Accounting Liaise with the auditors and preparation of audit files Correct incorrect G/L entries Prepare year end journals and reconciliations Prepare and maintain all statutory documentation Compile year end packs Requirements, Knowledge, Skills, Attributes: Relevant tertiary qualification At least 2-3 years' experience in Bookkeeping Good knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles Experience in financial accounting packages Accurate, meticulous, detailed, precise and methodical Sound business acumen - good general business skills Effective communication skills The ability to work in cross-functional teams High level of computer literacy essential Sound understanding of information systems (IT) as a business enabler Behavioural traits: Analytical thinking Practical orientation Solid ethics and values Frustration tolerance Flexibility Initiative Special Requirements: Willingness to work overtime when required Potential candidates may be required to undergo psychometric testing Own transport Please note only candidates with the required experience will be contacted and considered.
