Woolworths is seeking a proactive Team Leader to join our Country Road Group Retail Store. The team leader is accountable for assisting management to maximize department profitability and ensuring our CRG behaviours are maintained.To lead a high-performing retail team that delivers exceptional customer service, drives sales growth, maintains brand standards, manages stock effectively, and ensures operational compliance and loss prevention.This is achieved by assisting the CRG managers with the commercial operational processes, including customer service, housekeeping, people, stock and sales.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum Grade 12 qualification; or equivalent NQF Level
- 2–3+ years’ experience in a fashion retail or customer-focused retail environment.
- Proven track record of achieving personal and/or team sales targets.
- Experience using retail KPIs to drive performance (e.g., sales targets, conversion, average transaction value, customer engagement).
- Strong product knowledge with the ability to provide styling advice and create a positive customer experience.
- Previous experience acting as a senior sales consultant, key holder, supervisor, or informal team leader.
- Ability to lead by example and influence team performance
- Experience delegating tasks and supporting daily store operations.
- Experience supporting, coaching, and motivating team members to achieve results.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the team in providing outstanding customer experiences, handling customer queries, exchanges, refunds, and till-point processes while promoting brand loyalty and customer satisfaction.
- Maximise sales opportunities, achieve department and store targets, motivate team members to meet budgets, and ensure visual merchandising and promotions are executed to brand standards.
- Lead by example, uphold professional presentation standards, promote company culture, coach and develop team members, conduct regular team meetings, and assume management responsibilities when required.
- Foster collaboration, support training and development initiatives, ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, and contribute to achieving departmental and store objectives.
- Stay informed on seasonal trends, product features, fit, and styling advice, facilitate product training, and support new product launches and promotions.
- Monitor stock movement, resolve inventory discrepancies, manage transfers and faulty merchandise, minimise waste, and use reporting tools to support stock management and department growth.
- Adhere to security, stock control, health and safety, and till operation procedures; drive shrinkage awareness; monitor risk areas; and ensure accurate stock and transaction management.
