Automation Control Solutions represents Emerson Automation Solutions, in Southern and Eastern Africa.
Plan, organise and execute all daily tasks including repairs, calibrations and tests of a broad range of industrial instruments, with specific applications. Manage, Supervise and execute the operational functions and activities of the Workshop. Ensure that all repairs and service to both internal and external customers are carried out according to policies and procedures. Engage with Regional Sales Teams and Customers to grow the business through the faultless execution of service activities.
Minimum Requirements
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12
- Trade test (Instrumentation) and/or National Diploma (Instrumentation)
- Supervisory Certification (Advantageous)
EXPERIENCE
- 3 – 5 years Process Plant maintenance experience
- 2 Years applied Supervisory Experience
- Specific knowledge related to industrial instrumentation in the industry and their applications
- Drivers Licence Required

Duties and Responsibilities
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES)
- Determine customer needs and effectively market service capabilities, including installation solutions
- Maintain and develop relationships with existing and new customers
- Forecast and report on annual, monthly and weekly opportunities utilising the company CRM system.
- Interface with all sales consultants on service opportunities to ensure sound relationship management
- Set annual order intake targets through interaction with all sales consultants and customers on service opportunities
- Interface with Sales Consultants to produce and maintain an accurate STO (Shutdowns/Turnarounds/Outages) funnel for all customers in the area
- Determine own and all team members’ skills and training requirements and facilitate effective interventions. Ensure that Planned Job Observations are carried out annually.
- Ensure that the quality system required for the repair process is implemented, adhered to and maintained
- Supervise activities of all direct reports in the Workshop environment and ensure optimal utilisation of all resources.
