SALES DIRECTOR - (Key Accounts & National Sales)

Our client, a well-established FMCG business, is seeking an experienced Sales Director – Key Accounts & National Sales to join their executive team. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially driven leader with extensive FMCG sales experience to drive profitable growth, strengthen strategic retail partnerships, and lead both Key Accounts and National Sales teams across Southern Africa.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing the national sales strategy, managing relationships with major retail groups, leading commercial negotiations, driving sales performance, and building a high-performing sales culture. Working closely with Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain, the role will ensure exceptional execution, profitability, and long-term business growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field
  • Minimum 10 years’ senior sales leadership experience within FMCG, retail, consumer goods, or a related industry
  • Proven experience managing both National Sales and Key Accounts teams
  • Strong experience managing relationships with major retail groups across Southern Africa
  • Demonstrated success in negotiating commercial agreements, pricing, and trading terms
  • Strong commercial, financial, and analytical skills
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans and Joint Business Plans (JBPs)
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout Southern Africa
