SUMMARY

POSITION INFO

Our client is searching for an Electrical Foreman to join their team in Pretoria West Role Purpose To manage a team of Electrical Artisans to ensure the availability of converting machines and equipment, enabling safe production to required specification. The role is responsible for the execution of preventative maintenance activities to maintain or improve electrical reliability, and for ensuring all electrical equipment and installations comply with the OHS Act and related regulations. Key Responsibilities Ensure 24-hour operations are achieved by attending to priority equipment repairs and preventative maintenance Ensure sufficient support is available for major breakdown repairs Ensure all maintenance work is executed safely and efficiently Improve maintenance activities by reinstating industry quality standards to reduce rework and abnormal downtime Identify root causes of equipment failures and repetitive breakdowns; agree corrective actions with the Site Engineer Ensure spare part availability by liaising with engineering stores, external suppliers, and service providers Actively manage factory electrical equipment risk profile Drive processes aimed at maximising equipment reliability and reducing cost of maintenance Ensure work by external service providers meets agreed standards and complies with the company’s safety requirements Drive and support the company’s programmes (Safety, Health and Risk, Asset Management, Vision and Values, ISO 9001 & 14001, procurement processes) Adhere to agreed KPIs Coach and develop team critical skills to improve electrical team performance Develop and improve work instructions for routine maintenance to address equipment reliability issues Manage team discipline and time and attendance effectively Minimum Requirements Grade 12 N4 or Diploma in Electrical Engineering Recognised and relevant Trade Test (essential) Minimum 7 years FMCG plant electrical maintenance experience, preferably in a continuous manufacturing process environment Training and practical experience in preventive maintenance and effective fault finding Basic mechanical knowledge (advantageous) 5 years supervisory experience (advantageous) Knowledge of OHS Act, BCEA, LRA and related legal requirements Good communication skills at all levels Maintenance planning systems, purchase requisitioning, supplier RFQ experience SHE champion capability; risk assessment experience Strong fault-finding ability; logical thought process; stable personality; integrity Prepared to work outside normal hours and do management standby duties Goal-driven and self-motivated KPIs Equipment availability and uptime targets met Preventative maintenance schedule adherence Reduction in rework and abnormal downtime OHS Act compliance maintained across all electrical installations Team development and skills improvement Spare part availability and supplier management
