Construction Site Foreman | Building Construction

Our client, a reputable building contractor based in Cape Town, is looking for an experienced

Building Site Foreman to join their team. This is a hands-on role for a seasoned construction professional with a strong background across both residential and commercial projects

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Building Site Foreman — residential and commercial experience both required
• Relevant qualification such as a National Diploma in Building or equivalent
• Strong working knowledge of building construction methods, sequencing, and site operations
• Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Hands-on experience managing subcontractors, direct labour, and site teams
• Sound understanding of health and safety legislation and its practical application on construction sites
• A problem-solving mindset with the confidence to make decisions and take ownership under pressure
• Valid South African driver's licence
• Supervise and coordinate all daily site activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, and to the required quality standards
• Manage site labour, subcontractors, suppliers, and plant resources effectively and efficiently
• Monitor construction progress against the project programme; identify potential delays and escalate proactively
• Ensure all work is carried out in strict accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and company standards
• Conduct quality control inspections and manage the snagging and close-out process
• Coordinate material deliveries and manage site logistics to maintain uninterrupted workflow
• Attend site meetings and provide clear, accurate progress updates to project management
• Enforce health and safety regulations rigorously and maintain a safe, compliant working environment at all times
• Assist with the planning and scheduling of construction activities across work fronts
• Resolve site-related issues swiftly and practically to keep the project on track
