SUMMARY

An exciting opportunity exists for a Management Accountant based in Durban for a candidate looking to leverage their costing expertise within a manufacturing environment.

POSITION INFO

This role is ideal for a finance professional with strong analytical capabilities and a solid understanding of manufacturing operations, costing methodologies, and financial reporting. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain accurate product costing structures Analyse manufacturing costs and investigate cost variances Prepare monthly management accounts and financial performance reports Conduct profitability and margin analysis to support business decision-making Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes Monitor inventory-related costs and support stock valuation processes Partner with production and operational teams to identify cost-saving opportunities Provide financial insights and recommendations to improve operational efficiencies Support month-end and year-end reporting activities Ensure the accuracy and integrity of costing and financial data Assist with continuous improvement initiatives across finance and operations Assisting with month-end and year-end financial processes Education: BCom Accounting or Finance Additional qualifications in Cost and Management Accounting will be advantageous Strong academic foundation in financial and management accounting principles Skills and Experience: 2-5 years' relevant experience in accounting or management accounting Proven costing experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment Strong understanding of BOMs Experience with inventory, stock control, and cost analysis Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical ability Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills Ability to work effectively with both finance and operational team If you are looking to advance your career within a manufacturing environment where your costing expertise can directly impact business performance, this is an excellent opportunity.
