WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Calibrating, verifying, and maintaining gauges, measuring instruments, scales, setting pieces, and other inspection equipment in accordance with approved procedures and recognised standards.
  • Ensuring full traceability and maintaining accurate calibration records for all measuring equipment.
  • Managing the calibration programme and reducing overdue gauges through an effective tracking and monitoring system.
  • Interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements.
  • Conducting Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R) studies, and measurement uncertainty evaluations.
  • Preparing inspection reports, calibration certificates, and quality dossiers.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives for measuring methods, equipment, and laboratory systems.
  • Assisting in maintaining compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements where applicable.
  • Ensuring compliance with all SHEQE (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality, and Energy) requirements, company policies, and safe working practices.
  • Training production and quality personnel on the correct use, handling, care, and verification of measuring equipment.
  • Ensuring zero backlog on all gauges and instruments requested.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

  • National Diploma in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Mechatronics, Metallurgical or equivalent NQF 6 qualification.
  • Quality related courses would be advantageous.
  • Dimensional metrology would be advantageous.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a metrology/quality or precision manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure and understanding of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System would be advantageous.
  • Good problem-solving skills, customer liaison skills and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • A logical, flexible, self-motivated, reliable, well-spoken individual with thoroughness and tenacity.
  • Knowledge and ability to apply the MS Office Software, especially Word & Excel packages are essential.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision and work shifts.
  • Calibration principles.
