Production Planner

Job Purpose

  • Ensure daily production volumes are recorded, planned and executed according to requirement from Client and Food Services to ensure 100% availability on time.
  • Responsible for the medium to long-term production plan relevant to a portfolio of manufacturing sites and product categories

Key Responsibilities

  • To ensure that required raw materials and packaging are communicated to stores, buyers daily – every morning according to forward orders to ensure 100% availability.
  • Ensuring optimum use of intermediate raw materials in WIP and updated the line plan before planning.
  • Ensure daily downloading of Woolworths orders and analyse order fluctuations.
  • Ensure production reports is send out promptly daily.
  • Ensure daily production plan is issued to the factory well in advance.
  • Monitor execution of daily production plan, analyse and highlight potential yield losses.
  • Monitor all yield information, analyse, investigate and compare against standard.
  • Attend daily production meetings with relevant Foremen to discuss production plans.
  • Analyse the weekly productivity report to ensure planned kilograms will have a positive labour recovery.
  • Weekly review of Forecasted Demand/ Stock Cover/ Capacity Utilization/ Customer Service Levels.
  • Determine/ Maintain Model Stock parameters per SKU within Working Capital & Customer Service Level framework.
  • Issue updated production plan daily to ensure working capital & customer service level deliverables are met.
  • Review and Maintain Planning Master Data parameters (Lead-Times / Batch Sizes/ Model Stock).
  • Support Stock Controllers/ Buyers with SYSPRO MRP (Output/Interpretation/Master Data).
  • Perform any ad hoc duty as delegated by superiors

Qualification Requirements

  • Matric/Grade 12
  • Computer literacy and GMP, HACCP and WW Code of Practice
  • A sound knowledge of food production and manufacturing processes and techniques
  • Knowledge of food quality and food safety systems and standards

Experience Requirements

  • At least 5 Years working experience in FMCG Production Planning in a multi-process manufacturing environment.
