Senior Software Developer

Our client is looking for a highly accomplished Senior Software Developer to lead the evolution of a mission-critical software platform. This opportunity will suit someone with exceptional backend development expertise, strong architectural thinking, and a passion for building scalable, high-performance systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Rewrite and optimise an existing C++ application using the most appropriate modern programming language.
• Develop robust APIs and support migration towards a microservices environment.
• Extract and redesign business logic currently embedded within PostgreSQL stored procedures.
• Develop solutions for MIME email processing, content injection and message formatting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps and product stakeholders.
• Review software architecture and recommend performance improvements.
• Mentor developers and promote engineering best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, testing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant Bachelor's Degree.
• 10+ years' experience in software engineering.
• Strong C++ comprehension skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Rust, Go, Java, C#, or another high-performance language.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, REST APIs and SQL development.
• Exposure to Azure Kubernetes, Docker and cloud-native development.
• Understanding of software security and scalable system design.
• Excellent analytical, communication and leadership abilities.
