A leading international company within the Construction Chemicals and Building Materials Industry is seeking an experienced Technical Sales Representative – Contractors to join their Johannesburg team.
This permanent opportunity is ideal for a technically minded sales professional with experience servicing contractors, consultants and construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth, developing strong customer relationships and providing technical support across a diverse product portfolio.
- Promote and sell construction chemical products to contractors and key project stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with contractors, consultants, engineers and distributors.
- Identify new business opportunities and expand the existing customer base.
- Conduct regular customer visits and provide professional technical product support.
- Prepare quotations, pricing proposals and product recommendations.
- Present technical product demonstrations and conduct on-site training where required.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities and project opportunities.
- Achieve monthly sales targets and business objectives.
- Manage customer accounts and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Compile accurate sales forecasts, reports and CRM updates.
- Work closely with internal technical and customer service teams to ensure excellent service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards and quality requirements.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Relevant Sales, Construction, Civil, Engineering or Technical qualification will be advantageous.
- Minimum 3–5 years' external sales experience within the Construction Chemicals, Building Materials or Construction Industry.
- Experience selling technical products to contractors.
- Valid Code B Driver's Licence.
- Willingness to travel extensively.
Technical Requirements
- Strong knowledge of construction chemicals and building products.
- Experience working with contractors and construction projects.
- Excellent technical sales and presentation skills.
- Ability to read technical specifications and construction drawings.
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
