English Teacher — Teach in Japan 2026

TEFL UK is recruiting South African teachers for Interac, Japan's largest private ALT (Assistant Language Teacher) provider. This is a salaried, visa-sponsored position placing you in a Japanese school for a 12-month contract — with the option to renew indefinitely.

No Japanese language skills required. No placement fees.

This is a placement role. Successful applicants will be based in Japan

• Salary of ¥2,400,000–¥3,000,000 per year (approx. R230,000–R285,000), paid in 12 equal monthly instalments

You'll need

• A Bachelor's degree (any subject)
• Fluent English — South African applicants are eligible
• A TEFL certificate is beneficial but not required — Interac provides internal training
