Our client is a well-established and respected firm of attorneys based in the heart of Cape Town CBD is seeking a skilled Conveyancing Secretary to join their busy Property Department. This position is dedicated exclusively to property transfers, making it an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys managing the transfer process from instruction through to registration. In this role, you will be required to fulfil the following responsibilities: Managing residential and commercial property transfer files from inception to registration. Preparing and drafting all transfer documentation. Liaising with clients, estate agents, banks, municipalities, and the Deeds Office. Obtaining rates clearances, levy figures, transfer duty receipts, and all relevant compliance documentation. Preparing accounts and ensuring all financial requirements are met prior to lodgement. Coordinating lodgement and registration of transfers. Updating clients and stakeholders on the progress of transactions. Maintaining accurate electronic and physical filing systems. Ensuring all transactions are handled efficiently and in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements. For you application to be considered, you will require the following: Minimum of 8 - 10 years as a Conveyancing Secretary focusing primarily on transfers. Sound knowledge of the full transfer process from inception through to registration. Experience working on a recognised conveyancing software system (such as GhostPractice, Lexis Convey, LegalSuite or similar). Strong understanding of Deeds Office procedures and conveyancing documentation. Excellent administrative, organisational, and time management skills. Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to work accurately under pressure. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously while consistently meeting deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
