Job Advert Summary
Job Purpose: To maintain and support the CIPC’s Oracle Databases.
- A relevant National Diploma in the field of Information Technology or Computer Science.
- An Oracle training and certification
- Cloud training and certification will be an added advantage.
Minimum Requirements
- A relevant National Diploma in the field of Information Technology or Computer Science.
- An Oracle training and certification Cloud training and certification will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of Information Technology.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Oracle DBA in an organisation similar to CIPC.
- Experience in Unix, Linux OS, IT Network and Operating Systems.
- Experience in troubleshooting technical problems involving databases and operating system.
- Experience in effective communication and collaborating in a high-performance team environment.
- Experience in providing technical support in a customer service role;
- Familiarity with networking topology concepts.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory and DHCP concepts.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Exchange Server and supported clients e.g. Outlook, WebApp, etc.
- Familiarity with SAN storage
- Experienced in MS SQL and Informix databases shall be advantageous.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Installation, configuration, upgrades, and patch management of Oracle Databases.
- Monitor and maintain the Oracle Databases and the operating system.
- Monitor and review system logs and detect and troubleshoot problems.
- Database Upgrades and future releases
- Apply Industry best practices relevant to the CIPC environment.
- Patch Application
- Disaster Recovery
- High Availability
- Cloning
- Very Large Database (VLDB)
- Clustering and Failover
- Demonstrate day-to-day work adherence to security best practices, access control and security policies;
- Demonstrate day-to-day adherence to change control precepts and practices;
- Manage cloud environments,
