Location: Stellenbosch Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounting functions, and supporting the financial operations of a busy hospitality environment. The ideal candidate will have strong bookkeeping experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial procedures. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable. Reconcile bank statements and company accounts. Prepare and submit VAT returns and other statutory filings. Support payroll processing and maintain employee payroll records. Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures. Prepare financial reports for management. Reconcile supplier statements and ensure timely payments. Monitor cash flow and assist with financial administration. Liaise with external accountants and auditors. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies. Provide financial support to various operational departments as required. Minimum Requirements Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar finance role, preferably within the hospitality, hotel, tourism, or service industry. Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles. Experience with accounting software such as Sage Payroll Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organisational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Professional, trustworthy, and able to maintain confidentiality. Relevant bookkeeping or accounting qualification will be advantageous. Desired Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
