Position Details
Job Title: Literacy Resource Teacher
Grade: D
Number of Positions: One (1)
Responsible To: Non-Formal Education Trainer
Location: Quthing
Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Non-Formal Education Trainer (NFET), the incumbent is responsible for coordinating and monitoring learner support services in the district.
Key Duties
- Hold public gatherings to promote Non-Formal Education (NFE).
- Facilitate engagement of LPAs, tutors, and invigilators.
- Assess training needs of Continuing Education and Literacy facilitators.
- Facilitate registration and administration of tests and examinations.
- Be responsible for dispatch of learning materials.
- Prepare and administer orientation and face-to-face workshops.
- Conduct frequent visits to learning posts.
- Provide guidance and counselling to NFE learners.
- Attend conferences and seminars on NFE development in consultation with the Coordinator/Student Advisor.
- Compile progress reports and submit them to the Coordinator/Student Advisor.
- Carry out any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Ability to communicate with rural communities.
- Must be prepared to travel and stay for extended periods in remote areas of Lesotho.
- Computer skills.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Education (Primary)
