Hydraulic Technician

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Hydraulic Technician to join our team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of hydraulic systems and equipment within mining, petrochemical, or industrial environments. The ideal candidate must have a strong mechanical background and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, service, and repair hydraulic systems and components.
• Diagnose hydraulic faults and carry out effective repairs.
• Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on hydraulic equipment.
• Perform testing and commissioning of hydraulic systems.
• Ensure all work complies with company procedures, client specifications, and safety standards.
• Complete inspection reports and maintenance documentation accurately.
• Minimise equipment downtime through efficient maintenance practices.
• Assist with shutdowns, breakdowns, and emergency maintenance when required.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Minimum Requirements

• Mechanical Engineering N3 related qualification (essential) and Recognised Trade Test (Essential).
• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Hydraulic Technician.
• Hydraulic related qualification must be supported in a form of a certificate
• Sound knowledge of hydraulic systems, pumps, cylinders, valves, motors, and power units.
• Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and engineering drawings.
• Good fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of SHEQ standards and safe work practices.
• Valid driver's licence will be advantageous.
