Embedded Firmware Engineer

Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Junior-Mid Level Embedded Firmware Engineer who is passionate about embedded systems and firmware development. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining existing products, resolving firmware issues, and supporting the delivery of dependable embedded solutions within a collaborative engineering environment.

Your Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve embedded firmware across existing product lines.
• Diagnose, investigate, and resolve firmware defects.
• Support hardware and firmware troubleshooting through schematic analysis.
• Develop minor firmware enhancements while maintaining code quality.
• Participate in firmware validation, testing, and release activities.
• Contribute to technical discussions and peer code reviews.
• Follow version control, documentation, and development standards.
• Assist with firmware release management and documentation.

What You'll Need

• Relevant Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 2–6 years' experience developing firmware using Embedded C.
• Good understanding of embedded hardware and microcontroller architectures.
• Ability to interpret electronic schematics.
• Experience with debugging tools including oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Working knowledge of Git and firmware development workflows.
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes.
• Strong understanding of modular software design principles.

Beneficial Experience

• Serial communication protocols including UART, SPI, I²C, and RS485.
• TCP/IP fundamentals.
• Wireless communication technologies such as GSM, LTE, and WiFi.
• Firmware update mechanisms, bootloaders, and AT command interfaces.
• IoT security best practices.
