PURPOSE OF THE JOB
- Work in close collaboration with a Project Manager / Chief of Development, Chief of Operations, Senior Project Planning Manager (PrPM), or Sub-System Manager (SSM),
- Acts as the right hand of the Project Manager (PM) / Chief of Development (CoD) / Chief of Operations (CoO),
- Acts as the Project Manager’s trusted deputy, ensuring alignment across the core team and stepping in to lead when needed.
- Serves as the central connector of project interfaces, steering execution through robust scheduling and proactive coordination.
- Is a visible and respected leader within the project team, fostering collaboration, maintaining momentum, and driving delivery excellence.
- Communicates efficiently at any level, adapting the communication to the audience both verbally and written.
- Owns the time management topic for their area, providing accurate and timely scheduling information to support decision-making and ensure the expected On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance of the project (tender, contract, or program execution),
- Responsible to develop and maintain the project schedule (internal) for his area,
- Manage efficiently planning deliverable issuance,
- Facilitate the synchronization of internal stakeholders.
- to strategic roadmaps, mastering technical domains, and actively sharing knowledge across the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as the right hand of the Project Manager/Chief of Development, Chief of Operations on all issues related to the project schedule/development schedule/operations schedule
- Apply the Project Scheduling Process,
- Promote time management practices awareness in the project team,
- Contribute to the return of experience (REX) and improvements, share best practices, schedule templates.
- Have an awareness level for industrial planning.
In tender
- Analyse the schedule management requirements of the Senior PrPM for their area: schedule structure, reporting constraints…
- Define tender preparation schedule and monitor until the submission of the tender,
- Detail the tender schedule based on Reference Library, planning templates, gap analysis, Metier’s commitments and tender strategy,
- Highlight the critical path and risks linked to the project schedule for their area and propose the optimisation & mitigation actions,
- Contribute to the project strategy in compliance with the requirements defined by the Senior PrPM,
- Deliver on time all schedule deliverables down to the requested level,
- Estimate the cost of Scheduling management efforts.
- Involve the Region planning, PL planning, Scheduling Experts and Group Planning to enable the bid schedule verification (4-eye planning review) when applicable.
- Detail the tender schedule based on planning templates, Metier’s commitments, and PXO (Project Metiers Organisation) tender strategy and all assumptions driving the lead times.
- Detail the tender schedule based on planning templates, gap analysis and PXO (PIO / Project Industrial Organisation) tender strategy.
- Understand ramp-up and change of takt’s in industrial planning context.
- Challenge lead time and ramp-up assumptions of PIO stakeholders for end-to-end supply chain activities.
In contract or program execution
- Contribute to the Project Time Management Plan defined by the Senior PrPM.
- Build the project schedule for his area based on internal standard Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), contractual targets and data provided by all stakeholders,
- Understand industrial planning routines when defining the schedule management plan and setup for earned value,
- Contribute with the Finance Project Manager to Earned Value Management
- Participate to the validation of the project baseline
- Ensure the consistency of all the internal and external Stakeholders commitments for their area, and manages the schedules interfaces,
- Perform schedule analysis & trade-offs to close identified gaps or schedule issues of their area,
- Organise and lead periodic project schedule sessions for his area,
- Provide a timely updated schedule situation highlighting the gap between the actual and the baseline,
- Focus on early identification of potential delays (critical paths) including the status on risks and margin related to schedule
- Prepare schedule and progress reports,
- Provide support to sub-system manager on all issues related to sub-system project schedule (if applicable),
- Understand the risks linked to configuration changes, along with needed retrofits,
Project Development Planning Manager assignment
- Build the project schedule using the latest applicable templates in OdyC,
- Provide support to development manager on all issues related to development schedule,
- Ensure that configuration baselines are planned properly in the development schedule,
- Understand the risks of development logic deviations, provide warning to CoD if any
Project Operations Planning Manager assignment
- Understand industrial planning routines when defining the schedule management plan and setup for earned value,
- Understand the risks linked to configuration changes, provide early warnings to PrOPM and industrial planning. Contribute to provide input for the SIOP demand review of the PIO Production Sites.
- Align a common understanding of developments readiness needs to secure production start.
- Monitor consistency of MPS (Master Production Schedules) of PIO stakeholders to ensure alignment with project OTD while optimizing inventory.
Performance measurements in tenders
- On-time delivery of all requested tender deliverables,
- On time delivery of schedule analysis for decisions by the Tender Team: critical paths for main milestones, planning risks, standard metrics measuring schedule robustness
- List of potential gaps between sub-system project schedule defined in tender and Platform Reference Library schedule
Performance measurements in contract or program execution
- Regular and consistent scheduling updates, with potential delays analysis
- On time delivery of KPIs (Gate Reviews GO on time, sales, cash, OTIF, Unique KPI…) and planning documents,
- Standard metrics measuring schedule robustness (PSI)

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS/DESIRED KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE & BEHAVIOUR

- Engineering or Business degree
DESIRABLE
- Planning Certification.
EXPERIENCE
MANDATORY
- Project management or industrial background
- Is used to work with internal processes: Tenders, Projects, Engineering, Industrial, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Quality and their interfaces
- Project scheduler experience is a plus. Project scheduling processes
- Knowledge of different scheduling tools

- Basic overall knowledge of railway products, and good knowledge of the Sub-System,
- Agility to juggle with schedules simulations, various scenarios, and changing project goals,
