Our client in the Property Sector is looking for a General Maintenance Handyman/ Plumber to carry out general maintenance work in East London
POSITION INFO
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Perform basic tasks including carrying out maintenance repairs, such as: o Painting and filling minor cracks, o Basic carpentry work (repairs to doors and windows), o Basic plumbing, electrical and safety work, o Plastering and brick work (minor works) ROLE REQUIREMENTS QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Requirements: - High school Grade 10 or equivalent qualification required. - A minimum of 3 years' working experience in a similar role. - Solid experience with general maintenance work. - Ability to work with hardware tools and power equipment. - Extremely organized with good communication skills. - Detail-orientated with an aptitude for problem-solving. Safety - Ensure OH&S standards met when conducting maintenance work. - Responding effectively to safety, health and environmental emergencies. - Ensure that health, safety and environmental policies are observed, and report to the company. - Attend safety meetings - Attend safety inspections 2. Efficient unit turnovers - Clean vacant units (pre and post repair) - Carry out repairs to vacant units - Paint interior of units - Inspect work prior to handover to the Facilities Coordinator - Comply with turnover turnaround times as agreed 3. Maintenance and Repair - Complete Work Orders issued - Give continuous feedback on maintenance work to the company - Inspect the buildings and grounds and identifying key areas of concern, and report to the company - Review cleanliness of the buildings, and report to the company - Ensure that the repairs are processed, on time according to set standards of delivery. - Common areas and grounds inspected - Complex is neat and tidy at all times - Building optimally maintained - Building cleanliness standards maintained
