The Pest Control Officer is responsible for delivering professional pest management services to clients in accordance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Integrated Pest Management (IPM) principles, HACCP requirements, and all applicable health and safety legislation. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring quality service delivery, maintaining accurate service records, supervising Pest Control Assistants and Interns, and providing exceptional customer service while protecting company assets. Minimum Requirements Education & Qualifications Grade 12 (Matric) Valid Pest Control Operator (PCO) Certificate Valid South African Driver's Licence Experience Minimum of 2 years' experience in the pest control industry Experience servicing commercial, industrial and food manufacturing environments will be advantageous Knowledge of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and HACCP standards Experience using electronic Pest Management Systems or mobile service applications is advantageous Key Responsibilities 1. Service Delivery Deliver professional, high-quality pest control services at all allocated client sites. Complete all scheduled services within agreed timeframes. Perform inspections, treatments and monitoring in accordance with company SOPs. Identify pest activity, potential risks and preventative measures. Ensure all service information is accurately captured and uploaded onto the Pest Management System. Maintain high standards of workmanship and professionalism during every client interaction. 2. Documentation & Reporting Complete daily treatment reports accurately and timeously. Ensure Integrated Pest Management (IPM) files remain updated after every service. Obtain client signatures upon completion of each service. Record all housekeeping and proofing recommendations. Document any missing, damaged or broken pest control units. Submit all required reports and documentation according to company procedures. 3. Supervision & Training Supervise Pest Control Assistants and Interns during daily operations. Provide on-the-job coaching and training in accordance with company SOPs. Ensure assistants perform duties safely and efficiently. Monitor compliance with client-specific requirements and HACCP standards. Promote teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement. 4. Company Assets Management Ensure company vehicles are clean, roadworthy and properly maintained. Take responsibility for all company equipment and tools. Report damaged or faulty equipment immediately. Notify management of vehicle defects, servicing requirements or repairs. Ensure all equipment is stored and maintained correctly. 5. Health & Safety Compliance Comply with all Occupational Health and Safety requirements. Apply pesticides safely and responsibly in accordance with legislation. Wear and maintain all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Follow company safety procedures at all times. Report incidents, hazards or near misses immediately. 6. Customer Service Build and maintain professional relationships with clients. Deliver exceptional customer service during every interaction. Respond professionally to customer enquiries and concerns. Provide practical recommendations to improve pest prevention. Represent the company professionally at all times. 7. General Responsibilities Perform any other reasonable duties as requested by management. Maintain confidentiality regarding client information. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Continuously improve technical knowledge and industry best practices.
