The Section Head Maintenance Services is responsible for leading technical teams and vendors to maintain all infrastructure, machinery, and utilities. This role implements Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) strategies to maximize safety and minimize operational downtime.

Areas Of Responsibility

  • Maintenance Planning: Developing and executing a comprehensive Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedule to reduce emergency repairs and extend equipment life.
  • Operational Oversight: Diagnosing complex equipment failures and overseeing major repairs or overhauls.
  • Critical Infrastructure Management: Monitoring and maintaining “zero-fail” systems, including backup generators, UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply), and climate control for data/server rooms to ensure zero downtime.
  • Security Infrastructure: Conducting routine checks on electronic locks, fire suppression systems (specifically in server rooms), and physical barriers to ensure compliance with insurance and audit standards.
  • HVAC & Data Environment: Ensuring precision cooling in server rooms and comfortable climate control in customer-facing areas to maintain professional standards.
  • Infrastructure Projects: Providing support on project planning and scoping for capital/infrastructure projects and overseeing execution of renovations, refurbishments, and construction infrastructure projects and programmes.
  • Sustainability & ESG: Implementing energy-efficient lighting and HVAC upgrades to align with the Bank’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensuring the facility complies with health and safety regulations, fire codes, and banking-specific safety audits while maintaining rigorous documentation for audits.
  • Safety, Health & Environment: Managing the upkeep of plant and equipment to meet health and safety standards and ensuring that all maintenance contractors adhere to emergency procedures of the Bank.
  • Business Continuity Planning: Contributing to the “Disaster Recovery Plan” to ensure the Bank can remain operational during local emergencies or utility failures.
  • Team Leadership: Supervising, training, and mentoring a multidisciplinary team of staff, including Maintenance, Hygiene, and Gardening services, to ensure optimization of their support functions to all departments.
  • Budget & Inventory: Managing the maintenance budget, tracking MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) inventory, and negotiating with external contractors.
  • Policies, Procedures and Controls: Developing and implementing policies and procedures that guide maintenance operations and functions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Utilizing data from CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) to identify recurring issues and improve efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications

All candidates wishing to apply should have the above-stated behavioural competencies and the following minimum qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Construction Engineering, or Facilities Management.

Added Advantage

  • Facilities Management Professional Certification.
  • Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and preventive/predictive maintenance techniques.

Experience

  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a maintenance environment.

Experience In The Following Will Be Preferred

  • Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Safety & Compliance: Thorough knowledge of building codes, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
  • Performing active site inspections, including navigating construction zones and mechanical plant rooms.
