This hands-on role requires technical expertise to manage, troubleshoot, and maintain complex electrical distribution, plumbing, and emergency power systems. The role demands a person with exceptional physical stamina to safely lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and execute critical tasks across diverse weather conditions.

Due to the operational nature of the job and the Bank’s facility infrastructure, flexibility to work awkward or irregular hours is required to minimize disruptions and manage emergency responses effectively.

Areas Of Responsibility

  • Routine Inspections: Conducting regular walkthroughs of the premises to identify and resolve issues with lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and general structural integrity.
  • General Repairs: Executing minor electrical, carpentry, and plumbing repairs (e.g., replacing fixtures, repairing drywalls, fixing leaks).
  • Preventative Maintenance: Adhering to a strict schedule for servicing equipment and machinery to minimize downtime and extend asset life.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensuring all health and safety regulations are met, including the upkeep of fire safety equipment, emergency exits, and security systems.
  • Contracted Suppliers Supervision: Overseeing the work undertaken by externally contracted suppliers and service providers, and ensuring provided work meets the Bank’s standards.
  • Inventory Control: Tracking and ordering maintenance supplies, tools, and replacement parts within the allocated budget.

Qualifications

All candidates wishing to apply should have the above-stated behavioural competencies and the following minimum qualifications:

  • Associate Degree or Diploma in any of the following:
    • Electrical Engineering.
    • Mechanical Engineering.
    • Plumbing Engineering or Plumbing.

Experience

  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or a related trade, preferably within a corporate, high-security, or financial environment.
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience in plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC.
  • Experience in managing specialized service providers for lifts, fire alarms, and security systems will be an added advantage.
