ESSENTIAL SKILLS

• Deep SAP functional expertise (15+ years) across invoicing and related modules (FI, MM, SD).
• Strong knowledge of eInvoicing standards.
• Excellent knowledge of various document formats like XML & XSD templates and message mapping.
• Proven experience in solution architecture and designing scalable integrations.
• Advanced stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
• Exceptional leadership and team coaching skills, including mentoring senior and junior engineers.
• Proficiency with Agile delivery methods, sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives.
• Experience with JIRA and Confluence administration and governance.
• Strong problem analysis and incident management capabilities for production support.
• Ability to design and oversee database updates and data migration strategies.
• Experience with monitoring, dashboard design and automated reporting. Excellent knowledge of database structures.

ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS

• Hands-on experience with middleware such as KAFKA and API integration technologies.
• Familiarity with ITSM processes: CR creation, approvals and ticket lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of automated testing and CI/CD deployment pipelines for SAP interfaces.
• Experience working with outsourced delivery partners and managing handovers (e.g., Accenture).
• Understanding of country-specific regulations and multi-country rollouts.
• Experience with product depot/template management and alignment to enterprise templates.
• Background in performance tuning and stability improvements for high-volume integrations.
• Knowledge of governance and version control best practices.
• Experience with analytics tools and building business-facing dashboards.
• Prior experience operating as a sub-PDO, Agile Master or Delivery lead in a product organisation. Working under pressure.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide chief expert SAP functional leadership for product integrations and multi-country rollouts.
• Act as primary technical reviewer and approver for changes to ensure alignment with templates and long-term strategy.
• Lead design and architecture discussions for new solutions and enhancements, collaborating with developers and PDOs.
• Mentor, coach and support team members, transferring product knowledge and guiding complex issue resolution.
• Oversee sprint planning, epic governance and ensure JIRA/Confluence artefacts are maintained and accurate.
• Coordinate and approve CRs for production deployments and participate in ITSM approval workflows.
• Drive monitoring strategy, dashboard design and automated reporting to manage incidents proactively.
• Manage and validate database design changes, migrations and updates in coordination with DB developers. Facilitate and represent the team in key recurring meetings (Application Operations, 3rd Party Providers, PDO, planning, hyper care).
• Lead hyper-care and handover activities for country rollouts and ensure successful transitions to operations.
• Act as senior escalation point for complex production issues and support continuous improvement initiatives. Serve as Agile Master: remove impediments, protect the team from distractions, facilitate team ceremonies, and coach Agile practices.
• Act as sub-PDO responsibilities: help prioritise backlog items, refine user stories with product stakeholders, and ensure acceptance criteria and definition of done are clear.
• Drive continuous improvement of team ways of working, automation (JQL, Confluence reporting, AI MCP integrations) and sprint efficiency.
• Ensure effective knowledge transfer, onboarding plans and succession planning for critical product roles.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
• Extensive experience (typically 15+ years) in SAP functional roles with a strong focus on invoicing, integrations and middleware.
• Proven track record leading complex, multi-country or middleware integration programmes and mentoring cross-functional teams.
• Strong understanding of Agile delivery, JIRA/Confluence tooling, operations ITSM processes and enterprise architecture best practices.
