Tower Marketing is seeking a talented, self-driven, and high-energy individual to serve as a Business Development Specialist. The right candidate will have a “hunter” mentality, being responsible for navigating complex company organization structures, identifying and contacting decision-makers, and creating proposals based on the services the agency offers. This role will be the key link between all new prospects and our in-house teams utilizing their service knowledge and experiences to grow these new prospect relationships, ultimately transforming these prospects into the agency’s new clients.

  • Lead business development efforts to contact all leads on agency’s in-house list, CRM prospects, and new prospects that fit the agency’s targeted client profile.
  • Intermediate knowledge of internet marketing, website builds, and creative offerings (e.g. client goals vs. team implementations to meet those goals)
  • Research and qualify new business opportunities within our target markets. This includes using LinkedIn, corporate websites / directories, online tools, online / in-person events, and following up on traditional word-of-mouth referrals
  • Initiate contact with new, potential prospects in order to generate and qualify leads, promote the agency’s services and benefits, and identify and propose solutions that meet their needs
  • Create detailed proposals, presenting those proposals, and following up with prospects to secure their approvals
  • Attend online webinars and / or in-person events and mixers to connect with new business opportunities
  • Host and prepare speakers for Tower’s Marketing Matters peer group, as well as online webinars and / or in-person events to create new business opportunities
  • Serve as the prospect advocate throughout the proposal phase, proactively communicating questions, issues, risks, and opportunities, as well as providing potential solutions
  • Ability to brainstorm, collaborate, and strategize with in-house team members, including designers, developers, and internet marketing specialists
  • Ability to document all prospect interactions in the agency’s CRM system, providing detailed updates to the accounts team and estimated close dates for high probability opportunities.
  • Report weekly summary of current business development efforts and forecasted new prospect opportunities
  • Promote Tower Marketing’s core values across the agency and conduct oneself in perfect alignment with those values

Required Software Skills

  • Leads presentations well in both informal and formal settings
  • Familiarity with project management tools, such as Teamwork, ActiveCollab, etc.
  • Competent understanding of CRM systems, such as ActiveCampaign, Hubspot, etc.
  • Proficient with Google Suite

  • Strong interpersonal skills to form instant rapport with a broad variety of people types
  • Has a strategic mindset and understands what clients want and how to deliver it within the boundaries of a client’s budget, brand, and timeline
  • Possesses an inquisitive and open mind in order to consider and weigh each client’s requirements with the agency’s ability and resources available
  • Able to make recommendations, big and small, on ways to help clients reach their goals

Top Bonus Skills We Would Like To See

  • Able to effectively manage a range of client budgets and find creative solutions when making adjustments with project changes.
  • Experience with the Mac platform and familiarity with Mac devices: iMac, MacBook Pro, iPad, and iPhone.

Education, Certifications, And Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree preferred in marketing or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in a sales position
  • 1 – 2 years experience in a digital marketing agency: website development, internet marketing
