Duties: Assist the surgical team to perform surgical procedures successfully Ensure that the patient receives optimal care in line with hospital and company strategies Manage stock through regular stock taking and control of consignment stock Educate and supervise staff on the correct use of theatre equipment and instrumentation Provide quality patient care by obtaining accurate information pre-operatively and visiting patients post-operatively Support the Unit Manager in monitoring working hours, including overtime Ensure theatre team operates within scope of practice and provide performance feedback Enforce the use of personal protective clothing and adhere to ISO standards Facilitate proper disposal of medical waste to prevent infection Attend review and consultative meetings to maintain strong stakeholder relationships Report and escalate issues to internal and external stakeholders as required Requirements: 3-5 years of relevant experience in surgical nursing Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) Proficiency in Numerical Competence, Critical Care Nursing, and Surgical Nursing Strong understanding of nursing ethics and healthcare protocols Ability to work effectively in a team and manage responsibilities accurately Familiarity with the following: Healthcare regulations and hospital policies Use of surgical instruments and theatre equipment Benefits: Competitive salary package (details available upon request) Opportunities for professional development and career growth Supportive work environment within a leading healthcare provider Take the next step in your nursing career and make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients.
