Location: Durban, KwaZulu-Natal ( Bayhead )

Salary: R145,000 – R160,000 CTC per month

About the Opportunity

Our client, a leading international logistics and supply chain organisation, is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Head of Operations to lead operational service delivery across warehousing, inventory management, yard operations and intermodal logistics.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, delivering exceptional client service, leading high-performing teams, and ensuring the efficient execution of complex logistics operations within a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing operational performance, strengthening client relationships, and delivering continuous business improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage warehousing, inventory, yard and intermodal operations
  • Drive operational excellence while maintaining exceptional customer service standards
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring long-term customer satisfaction
  • Manage client escalations and resolve operational challenges effectively
  • Ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are consistently achieved
  • Coordinate cross-functional operational teams to optimise service delivery
  • Monitor operational KPIs and implement performance improvement initiatives
  • Drive continuous process improvement and operational efficiencies
  • Ensure billing accuracy, cost recovery and optimal utilisation of operational assets
  • Lead, mentor and develop operational management teams
  • Produce operational and client performance reports for senior leadership
  • Foster a high-performance, customer-focused culture across the business

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration (NQF Level 7)
  • Honours Degree advantageous
  • Minimum 5 years' experience within logistics, warehousing or supply chain operations
  • Minimum 3 years' experience leading operational teams
  • Proven experience managing client relationships and service delivery
  • Strong operational leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving abilities
  • Valid driver's licence
