Salary: Based on experience
To identify, secure, and grow new healthcare, pharmaceutical, and medical-device logistics opportunities. This role develops compliant, commercially viable solutions that meet client requirements, align with Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and cold-chain standards, and drive revenue growth.
Requirements
· Junior: 1+ years of sales/business development experience in a healthcare logistics environment; Grade 12 essential.
· Mid: 2–3 years of proven sales/business development experience within healthcare logistics.
· Senior: 5+ years of experience with a strong track record of securing new business from healthcare, pharma, or medical-device clients.
· Advantageous (All Levels): Diploma in Sales, Marketing, Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
· Knowledge: MS Office (Excel & PowerPoint essential), consultative sales techniques, healthcare market intelligence, and business acumen.
· Skills: Communication, negotiation, networking, relationship-building, analytical thinking, and time management.
· Core Competencies: Seizing opportunities, pursuing goals, establishing rapport, convincing people, and developing strategies.
· Strict adherence to Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) requirements.
· Full compliance with Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and Good Documentation Practice guidelines per SAHPRA.
· Handling of all pharmaceutical goods and medical devices in accordance with the Medicines and Related Substances Act 101 of 1965.
Sales & Revenue Growth
· Identify, qualify, and convert new healthcare, pharma, and medical-device logistics prospects.
· Understand prospect business models, regulatory needs, and distribution networks.
· Present tailored proposals and negotiate commercial terms/rates within approved margin parameters.
· Coordinate smooth client handovers to onboarding, operations, and retention teams.
· Maintain accurate CRM records and consistently meet monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
Management & Strategy Support
· Provide pipeline feedback, market insights, conversion risks, and competitor analysis to management.
· Assist with healthcare sales campaigns, pricing models, and sector-specific growth initiatives.
· Recommend enhancements for warehousing, distribution, cold-chain, and value-added logistics services.
Stakeholder Management & Continuous Improvement
· Build strong relationships with internal teams (Operations, Quality, Pricing, Customer Service).
· Stay updated on healthcare logistics trends, SAHPRA regulations, and consultative selling techniques.
· Share market feedback to improve the sales process, proposal quality, and operational readiness.
