Project Manager (Process / EPC) – Water & Wastewater Treatment

A leading engineering and project delivery organisation within the water and wastewater treatment sector is seeking an experienced

Project Manager to lead the successful execution of complex EPC projects across South Africa and Africa. The ideal candidate will have a strong process engineering background combined with proven Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) project management experience within industrial water, wastewater, process, or infrastructure environments. The company operates as a turnkey EPC contractor, delivering water and wastewater treatment solutions from design through commissioning.

POSITION INFO

Key Responsibilities Manage full EPC project lifecycles from initiation through to commissioning and handover. Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams. Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Drive project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, risk management, and reporting. Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders. Oversee contractual compliance, cost control, and change management processes. Manage site activities and ensure adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements. Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions where required. Lead commissioning and performance testing activities. Foster strong client relationships and identify opportunities for future business growth. Minimum Requirements BEng / BSc / BTech in Chemical, Process, Mechanical, Civil, or related Engineering discipline. Proven experience managing EPC or turnkey projects within the water, wastewater, process, mining, industrial, or infrastructure sectors. Strong understanding of process engineering principles and treatment technologies. Minimum 5-10 years' project management experience. Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary project teams. Strong commercial, contractual, and financial management skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities. Proficiency in project scheduling and project management software. Willingness to travel to project sites when required. Desired Skills & Experience Experience in water treatment, wastewater treatment, process plants, or utility infrastructure projects. Exposure to FEED, detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational handover. PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification advantageous.
