Senior Quantity Surveyor

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Cape Town. This office based role includes regular site visits and offers the opportunity to oversee multiple building projects from inception through to completion. The ideal candidate will bring extensive industry experience, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to manage competing project demands effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of multiple building projects.
• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation.
• Monitor project costs and ensure financial objectives are achieved.
• Evaluate subcontractor quotations and administer subcontract agreements.
• Prepare valuations, cost reports, and final accounts.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress and commercial performance.
• Identify commercial risks and implement effective cost-control measures.
• Liaise with project teams, consultants, subcontractors, and clients.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the building construction industry.
• Approximately 15–20 years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of local construction practices, contracts, and cost management.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively between the office and construction sites.
