M&A Associate

A leading investment banking organisation is seeking an M&A Associate to join their Johannesburg team. The successful candidate will focus on mergers and acquisitions transactions across the Metals & Mining sector, including mining services, with additional exposure to the energy sector. This role will involve transaction execution, financial analysis, client relationship management, business development, and supporting private capital transactions across South Africa and the broader African continent.

Requirements include (but are not limited to):

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; postgraduate qualifications or professional finance credentials advantageous.
• Minimum 3 years’ M&A experience, with significant exposure to Metals & Mining transactions preferred.
• Strong technical skills in financial analysis, valuation, transaction structuring, and preparation of transaction documentation.
• Experience within an investment bank, private equity, commercial banking, transaction advisory, valuations, or corporate finance environment advantageous.
• Strong business development, client relationship management, negotiation, leadership, and mentoring skills with the ability to manage transactions from origination through completion.
