Technical Customer Support Specialist - Construction Products & Hardware Location: Montague Gardens, Cape Town Salary: R30,000 per month (Negotiable depending on experience) + Medical Aid + Pension Fund Join a Leading Manufacturer Our client is a respected manufacturer supplying the retail, DIY and construction industries with high-quality building products. We are looking for a technically minded customer support professional who understands construction products and enjoys helping customers solve product-related queries. This role is ideal for someone currently working for a manufacturer, distributor or hardware retailer selling adhesives, sealants, waterproofing, coatings or related construction products. Key Responsibilities Provide technical product advice and support to customers and the sales team. Handle technical product enquiries received via the Technical Helpline. Investigate and coordinate customer complaints with Sales and Laboratory teams. Coordinate product testing and sample requests. Compile monthly reports on customer complaints and product samples. Maintain Technical Data Sheets (TDS), product documentation and technical databases. Develop and maintain customer FAQs and technical support information. Procure laboratory equipment and consumables. Control laboratory stock and documentation. Coordinate laboratory servicing and maintenance. Ensure laboratory administration, housekeeping and safety standards are maintained. Assist with continuous improvement initiatives within the Technical Services department. Minimum Requirements Grade 12 (Matric). Technical qualification advantageous. 3-5 years'''''''' experience within the construction chemicals, adhesives, sealants, waterproofing, coatings, hardware or building materials industry. Previous experience providing technical product support or handling technical customer enquiries. Experience investigating customer complaints and recommending product solutions. Strong Microsoft Office skills. Fluent in English and Afrikaans. We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked for: Manufacturers of adhesives, sealants, waterproofing products, coatings or construction chemicals. Building material distributors. Hardware retailers. Specialist construction product suppliers.
