Project Officer
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate the College’s heavy-duty vehicles, including buses and light motor vehicles, for the transport of students, the Head of School, staff, goods, and materials.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting defects promptly to the Administration Office.
- Ensure the vehicle is kept clean, roadworthy, and that routine and scheduled maintenance is carried out on time.
- Maintain accurate trip logs, fuel records, and vehicle documentation.
- Observe all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and College safeguarding policies at all times, particularly when transporting minors.
- Assist with loading and offloading of goods, equipment, and supplies as required.
- Respond to transport needs for school trips, sporting fixtures, and other official College business, including occasional early morning, evening, or weekend duties.
Minimum Requirements
- Valid Lesotho Class C1/C (Heavy Duty) driving licence, with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
- Minimum of 10 years’ proven experience driving heavy-duty vehicles, ideally including student passenger transport.
- Clean traffic record, with no history of serious driving offences.
- Cambridge Overseas School Certificate / LGCSE (or equivalent); basic mechanical aptitude is an advantage.
- Sound understanding of road safety regulations and vehicle maintenance basics.
- Good physical fitness and a valid medical certificate of fitness to drive.
- Clear criminal record and satisfactory police clearance, given the College’s child safeguarding requirements.
- Punctual, trustworthy, and able to work flexible hours during term time.
